Magically Magic Kingdom

We went intending to visit at least two of the Disney parks but landed on just returning to Magic Kingdom all three days. Why mess with a good thing?! Vanessa and Zane especially loved doing the Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the Laugh Floor many times. Our days revolved around checking the wait times for those. And they even got to do Space Mountain on Thursday, without an outlandish wait. We did a lot, though, including eating and shopping. The only disappointment was Splash Mountain being closed temporarily, for renovations. Even so, Hendrix really enjoyed watching the powerwashers while waiting on Dad, Vanessa and Zane to ride Thunder Mountain over and over again.

Grandma and Grandpa were able to go with a part of our visits there. It was hot but Grandpa made sure we were all staying hydrated and the kids were keeping their eyes protected. And really, it wasn't as hot as it could be in Orlando, FL, so that made it tolerable. We're so thankful to have them there, to share the experience and to have their support with Hendrix.

After going on the Haunted Mansion the first time, Zane described it as "It's a miracle!" Perhaps because we made it out alive? And then after our first time on the Carousel of Progress, Zane said "It was absolutely amazing!" He actually enjoyed it. I'm pretty sure he was analyzing each era and how things have changed over time.

Zane was also pretty incredible with remembering our parking lot name and spot number. Rapunzel 229, Rapunzel 231, Aladdin 305. On the third day, we didn't have to get on the tram because we were so close to the monorail entrance!

The first time we did the Laugh Room, Vanessa was so very concerned they would call on her to interact in the show. By 3rd or 4th visit, she was hoping they would call us. (We made it onscreen a couple of times, being beside or behind people who were chosen.) Vanessa also texted a joke, and we're figuring it was used in one of the shows. "What do you get when you cross a fish and an elephant? Swimming Trunks!"

Vanessa was also chosen two different times to be a time pacer. So she carried the GPS card they gave her until she got to the front of the line. This helped the workers know the estimated wait times -- and those times were reflected on all the Disney line apps! And I've never laughed so hard as when I rode with Vanessa driving a track car. My forehead and cheeks were hurting!

Hendrix loved It's a Small World, pointing and oohing and aahing at all the different things. We landed a perfect moment to ride it, with no wait at all. He also loved the shows and parades, singing and dancing, when he was awake.

Daddy chose to use the FastPass + twice. Even then, it was almost forced since the Thursday was the least crowded day we were there, rating a 5 out of 10. A Disney resident says that it's almost always a 6 out of 10 now, almost never going below that anymore.
