Zane's Musings

Here are some recent samples of Zane's morning journaling (before the start of school). I love to read the things he writes about and the things that stick with him. He often writes historically too, like about events that took place a couple of years ago. This work isn't graded, so he doesn't have to worry about punctuation or taking his time too much. Yet his pictures are always so detailed and happy.
"I like spring because the flowers bloom and when the sun is out more and I get (to play outside more.)"

"I play with my friends Willy (Lilly) and we play on the trampoline."

Any Day

Schedules have been funky this spring. But we'll take any day to go into nature . . .

Native

Vanessa has really enjoyed studying the Native Americans this year. She made an impressive model for the Wyandot Indians, using Popsicle sticks, bark, old silk greenery, turf, faux leather, fishing lures, sticks, felt and paper . . .

She's excited to visit the Mound City soon! We're hoping to take her to Tecumseh soon.

Sleep in heavenly peace. . . please . . .

In the midst of no sleep, it's truly hard to treasure anything. But if you let me treasure you, that makes my wish come true.

MedFlight

I don't think there's a better way to earn your first aid badge than to be schooled by your Aunt Sally at the MedFlight facility. What a great day. The Troop still claims it might be one of the funnest experiences yet!
The adults and families jumped in for a picture too, cause it was that exciting!
The girls left with an understanding that it takes very special people to work as first responders. Some who wondered about work in related fields quickly realized they might not be cut out for it. Others suddenly realized they might have what it takes!

Drinking From the Hose

At this stage...

Although you're about to kill me (and yourself) i love to see you problem solve in your climbing...

I love the way you naturally kick and dribble a ball as if you're a reincarnated soccer player...

I love how you pretend to wash your body and hair while watching me in the shower...

I love how you know what you want...

I love how you pretend sneeze...

I love how you grab my hands and put them together to act out itsy bitsy spider...

I love how you climb up the slide to sit down and slide down the right way...

I love that you try to clean up...

I love that you're trying to figure out how to dress yourself...

I love how you love animals but are guarded with adults...

I love your sword fighting...

I love how you dance to music and play the piano softly like you're focused on each key and the sound it makes...and I love to hear you sing...

I love that you do things because you enjoy rather than to please someone...

I love to hear you call for your brother and sister...

I love how you ride on your toy car, honk your horn, and get off to go knock on the door. (How did you come up with this one?!)...

I love how you randomly say a word or phrase so perfectly...

I love that you're finally somewhat content on car rides...

I love that you beg to go outside...

I love you.

Mollohan Nerf War

What a fun time!
Hendrix slept in the van while we ran amok.
