Cocoa Beach

And what better way to wrap up a vacation than to visit the beach. It was Hendrix's first time to an ocean beach and Zane's third. It was Vanessa's fourth. Hendrix was excited but was a little intimidated and quite respectful of the ocean's force. He found security in holding his daddy's hand. It was windy. The sand was interesting. Hendrix loved checking out the seaweed. We found coconut shells and shucks and drift wood. And Hendrix found a couple of adandoned beach holes to play in. Zane lost a pair of goggles to the ocean. And then Vanessa did too. We left our mark . . .

Kennedy Space Center

On our full day in the area of Cape Canaveral, Florida, we visited Kennedy Space Center. Although it got off to a slow start , it ended up being a very impressive experience. (Note to self: Next time save the free play in the playspace till the very end.) But the Atlantis exhibit is quite enjoyable!

Wonder Works and Disney Springs

A couple of times we decided to play things a little lower key, so on Tuesday we went to Wonder Works with Vanessa and Zane. Both kids were bold enough to grab the electrical bolt and by lying down on a bed of nails. We  repeated the glow in the dark rope course a couple of times. It was Zane's first time and Vanessa's second. Both were impressive. The worker commented on how well Zane navigated the course and how impressed she was. We had a blast at Lazer Tag with another family, and even with Adam beating all of us. We did crazy roller coaster simulators and survived.
On Wednesday it was cooler but we were moving slow again, so we went to Disney Springs, which is basically like Easton on Disney steroids. My friend/boss, decided it would be a great place to grab something different to eat Tuesday evening, and so Vanessa and I liked it so much, we had to take Daddy, Zane and Hendrix back. It was a much better wait on Wednesday than Tuesday evening. We ate at the T-Rex restaurant where Hendrix was totally engaged but equally guarded with the robotic dinosaurs and meteor showers. He ended up entertaining himself by picking the triceratops' nose and laughing hysterically. He got to dig and bury himself near fossils in a fun gravel bed too. He didn't want to leave.
