A Doable Drive

We headed to Orlando on Friday, October 13. We broke up the one way 995 miles into two trips, staying the night in Columbia, SC on the way down. And staying the night in Charlotte on the way back, on the 21st. The kids were amazing, especially Hendrix. Vanessa and Zane asked a few times how much longer, but they barely asked on the way back.

On the way down, Adam had to pick up a Lorobi's on the way. We devoured most of two pizzas. On the way back, Adam had to have a Stuffed Shirt, which meant we all scored hot fudge shakes too!

We took lots of DVDs with us but we mostly watched a lot of Lazytown to keep Hendrix content. We created sticker creations on the way down, for Hendrix to pull apart, and we balanced his entertainment with the LeapPad, the FlashPad, and his ABC computers. We played noise games and peek-a-boo. And we ate tons of Dum Dum suckers and fruit snacks.

We were happy to get there and sad to leave.
And when we returned, we were blessed with munchies and milk! Vanessa: "Grandma is great like that! She bombed us with her awesome cinnamon muffins too!"
