(Note: Please know that I got Hendrix out of carseat and then realized I never took a ceremonious picture , so I plopped him back in quickly for a picture. So yes, I know he shouldn't be crammed in a carseat with a thick coat and the belts should be untwisted. ;-))
Hendrix turned 9 months yesterday. I keep trying to get some video of him walking with the cars and so forth but like his sister and brother, electronics send him into a weird kind of craziness and I end up having to stop trying.
He moved into a bigger carseat, which just seems weird. He's climbing out of the highchair. He's not safe. No fear. I need to buy him helmet and body pads.
As you can see, he's busy. I guess Hendrix proves that Adam and I are unable to produce calm children. ;-)
I was posting this and I got a small snippet of video!

Heart Warming
This was the last day of warmth, before we got the temps we deserve and should have by now. We soaked up as much warmth and sunshine as we could. We needed those moments to keep our heart warm throughout the winter.
I just wanted a couple pics . . .

"Vanessa Wee"
He still does it sometimes. Zane will sometimes say "Vanessa Weee" when astonished by her. I realized a while back that it was his version of "Vanessa Marie". If he takes his time and thinks about it, he says her name fully, but often he still slips it out quickly and it sounds like "Vanessa Weee"

Napping Chair
Yesterday was a great napping day for Hendrix. I hammered out 3 hours of work early in the day, so that meant my brain was completely present for Vanessa and Zane in the evening and it meant I could crash out whenever I wanted.
The day before was not as ideal, although the picture below might lead one to believe it was. The scene below lasted long enough for me to eat my lunch and begin a new lesson when Hendrix woke back up and insisted I cuddle him. I won't complain because flexibility is key to contentment.
I'm very blessed to be able to do some work from home that meets the parameters I have set. I get to eat leftovers, prop my feet up and have the TV on in the background. I don't have to shower and I can wear yoga pants all day and every day.
Sadly my son believes this chair his bed. In the evening he crawls to it when he's ready to sleep. I take him upstairs and try to put him in bed but he wakes up and appears more alert than ever when I try to leave him there. Some babies are attached to a binky. Some are attached to a blankie. Hendrix is attached to this chair. (Except between 12:30-1AM, when he wakes up and doesn't settle until we move upstairs.)

Writer's Journal
I think I mentioned how Zane likes to get his work done and out of the way. He's not much of a procrastinator. Takes after his dad. Anyway, this particular assignment revolved around Star Wars. I was impressed by his writing and drawing. He didn't have any help, only encouragement.
"Star Wars Force Awakens"
"Kylo Ren from Star Wars"

Just in time to stuff himself . . .
What? You want to see my two new teeth? Then push me in the swing and make me laugh!
I feel like this guy deserves the world after spending so much time pushing these teeth thru! He seems relatively happier.

Keep looking up . . .
Hendrix has been mastering the word "up". I'm trying to get him to say it before being lifted or doing something that involves moving up but he usually waits till we're doing to say it. Sometimes he gets so into saying it, he repeats it over and over, cupping his lips perfectly to capture just enough air to make the "p" pop when he says it. It's cute and I love it.
Really it's the perfect time to master such a word.

Toother
After 4 long months, Hendrix's 1st tooth is starting to pop through. It happened on November 1. I can feel it's rough top breaking through the gum. I'm convinced it's for real now. He's had such a rough time with that. Most people don't believe he has a temper or can protest extra loudly, until he snaps. When he snaps, the caregiver is usually left feeling like they did something wrong, trying to figure out how he can be smiling and laughing one second and screaming so loudly the next. The boy knows how to be heard and to get what he wants.

Tricky Treats
Hendrix was a little trickier with Trick or Treat this year. I'm used to my kids being 1 or 2 months old while venturing out, you know, when they're really more agreeable. Even so, it was quite enjoyable to carry on the tradition with the Slivkas. Hendrix slept for about the first 30 minutes. Then he seemed confused. Vanessa and Zane were excited to be with their buddies. And it certainly allows for us adults to catch up.
Why not do some costume swapping?
