We interrupt this series of vacation postings to share with you that we are expecting a boy! He will be named Zane Gibson Betz. He's doing well and has very busy hands. We saw him clasp them and wave. He's already figured out that turning down early is wise. Grant it he might turn many more times, but Vanessa at this point was sitting upright like she was in a hammock. And then she wedged herself in. (I wouldn't be surprised if a scary airplane ride when I was 6 months pregnant with her encouraged her stay wedged. She kept her head close to my heart the rest of the pregnancy, and when being delivered, it was as if she wasn't ready to come out -- wiggling away from the doctor's hands while inching up as far as she could go.)
An ultrasound is always exciting. Just like with Vanessa, my excitement was noticed when taking my blood pressure. I chilled out quickly though. :) Being able to check in on what's happening is absolutely amazing to me . . .
Here he is!
Here you're viewing Zane as if he is sitting on a glass table and you are looking up through from below. :) I'm sure one day he'll appreciate me sharing this.
Vanessa has been getting used to the idea of a little brother named Zane. She often pronounces his name "Zen." Initially she tried to insist that he was not going to be her baby brother but rather a person in a magazine. We've also talked about sharing her baby stuff with her baby brother -- the idea is growing on her. She's already beginning to share her blog. :)
