We left the hospital on March 3, the original day Hendrix was due to arrive, and cousin Luke's b-day. Because I had to have a repeat c-section, the doc scheduled it for March 2. Then, about a month or so ago, the doc informed that the conference she thought started March 3rd actually started March 2. She told me we could keep the original date, but I felt I should try to schedule around her schedule since I chose her for her expertise, so we rescheduled for March 8, with the idea that it was highly unlikely I would make it till then. All that planning didn't matter, of course. When the doc saw me on Feb 26, she said she thought I would probably go sooner than later. She was right and it was at a time when her partner was on call.
The delivery went well. The hospital staff were awesome. They hated to see Hendrix go, anxious for turns to show him off in the nursery. I was told he was the quietest and easiest while in there, just listening and looking around. We were excited to go home though. Hendrix only lost like an ounce and half in weight. And he was/is eating like a champ. He took to the carseat well and seemed to enjoy the brightness when entering the great room at home -- so many things to see!
Vanessa and Zane made a banner for our return. What a great addition Hendrix is to our family.
