Rainy Halloween
So a few months ago Vanessa asked to be an angel for Halloween. I told her she had to earn her halo. She did. And she helped make it. Zane asked to be a cowboy. Grandma helped fulfill his birthday wish for a dress-up outfit. Lucky guy. He wasn't only a cowboy but he was a sheriff! :-)
Check out our special friends/trick-or-treat crew. Each one is so very cute!
Speaking of the Sheriff -- trick OR treat?Okay, it was a trick. But this Sheriff was fun to play along. And Paul was awesome for initiating the lesson.

And I love catching shots when all the kids are running from one place to the next. The dads were great crossing guards, as always.
One last stretch. Perfect.
It was rainy but relatively warm. The kids didn't seem to mind getting wet. Zane would shed a few layers as each became too wet. And the wind made it hard to keep headpieces on.

53 Shades of Freckle
Mommy: "Vanessa, I do believe you have more freckles on your face."
Vanessa: "I have fifty-three freckles."
Mommy: "Fifty-three? How do you know?"
Vanessa: "Daddy counted them last time we were at tailgating. He said there are fifty-three now. Really. He did."
My heart skipped a beat. Surely Daddy just blurted out any number.
Later, when giving him a summary of our day, I told him the story Vanessa shared. He replied that although he may have miscounted and been off by a few, he really did attempt to count each one. My heart skipped another beat.
